My Apology to my Grandchildren

After learning of the passage of the stimulus act in excess of seven hundred billion dollars , I feel grief for the situation that my grandchildren will inherit. It seems in the crisis of the moment the senate passed legislation that they could never have read in the 10 hours that it was available to them to read. It is in excess of a thousand pages and m any of the politicians admitted that they voted for it but had not read it and really did not know what details it contained. Daily more pieces of what is contained in the bill come to light. ALl of this in contrast to the change in Washington government that o ur new president promised with his administration. He had promised that legislation would be available to be read for 48 hours before a vote would be taken . Sadly this was not the case with the biggest spending bill ever passed by the US. Today our president will sign this into law in Denver. He waited until Tuesday even though the legislation was "critically important" to be passed by the senate on FRriday afternoon.

At anyrate I feel depressed and ashamed of the US for having to pass this debt onto future generations and we have no idea yet what all of the details are . The democrats seem to think this is a quick fix and the price can be paid for by the future generations . We have been a people for too long who lived beyond our income and on credit . Finally the bill is coming due with interest and the way the house and the senate and the president have chosen to deal with is to pass this monstrous bill. They promise that taxpayer will get $13.00 a week more in the stimulus. That is not enough to satisfy the grief and guilt that I feel because of this.
Children , please know that there are a few people who oppose this but they are in the minority and not in a position to stop the forces that are not in power . Know that integrity , honesty and hard work are valuable traits, but not possessed among the present political power mongers. These traits will become even more valuable in the days ahead although rare in WASHINGTON DC. These traits will help people survive despite the desperate times that are to come. God is bigger than these politicians and He is in control ultimately and will use these events to bring about His Glory. Know that I am thinking of you even now.

THE POWER OF A LITTLE BOY

I have a little 4 year old grandson who can lower my blood pressure after a really bad week. After many weeks of increasing shoulder pain my blood pressure has been way to high. Add to that a really crummy week at one of my school districts and I was in need of a lift. I got home late from work Friday evening and got on my favorite messenger spot to talk with my grandson, daughter and son . It is my favorite activity of the week. After about two hours talking I checked my blood pressure and found it was 5 points lower. Although it was still high , it was the best it had been all week. What a blessing , my daughter makes a special point of getting online with me so I can keep up with the little guy. We all talk about the events of the week and laugh . I am truly a blessed momma.
